High On Heels

I am a self proclaimed shoe whore. It all started at the tender age of 12 when my father sent me a pretty pair of black patent leather flats from the US. They were probably not very expensive but I was still in Cuba then so they looked like they were. I wore those shoes whenever I got the chance. They were of course, reserved for special occasions but I just couldn't get enough of them. My next shoe love was a pair of cowboy boots that a friend of one of my mom's friend had. I'd just look at them and drool. I longed for those boots and I swore that when I moved to the US, I'd wear cowboy boots all the time. Ironically, I don't own a pair of cowboy boots and I never have to this date.

When I moved to the US, I was only 14 so I couldn't afford to by myself shoes. I got my parents to buy me a pair here and there but it wasn't much. As I got older, I started getting my mom to buy me more and more. They were pretty inexpensive at this point. The true shoe love affair started when I joined the Navy and could afford to buy my own shoes, when I wanted, however many I wanted.

I don't know which pair came first but all I know is that somehow, I have ended up with hundreds of pairs of shoes, boots, flip flops, etc. They are not all expensive, some are quite cheap. Luckily for me, I like all shoes, cheap and expensive. Price is not an issue. If I see a pair of Payless shoes I like, I buy them. However, lately, I have been lusting after an expensive pair of shoes. They are just gorgeous. They are classy yet sexy. They are sophisticated. I fantasize about them and it feels like I can only imagine a shoe induced foot orgasm would feel like. The price tag (my husband really) is what has kept me from turning this fantasy into reality. I dream of the day I see them on my feet.

I can only imagine how a pair of shoes like this would make a girl feel. I'd walk down the street like I'm the queen of the world. Just flaunting my Manolos, pretending like they are an everyday occurrence for me, like it's no big deal. So, while I keep dreaming about these beauties, let's all hail the Shoe God, the Almighty Manolo Blahnik.
